Ripple announced on April 24, 2018, that they would be hosting a VIP gathering featuring Snoop Dogg, and will be giving away ten tickets on Twitter.

Ripple’s Party Giveaway: Meme’s and XRP

The company announced via their blog, which explained how the “XRP community night” has been devised to celebrate the company work to date in developing its XRP token and the blockchain technology.

“As special thanks to those who are building liquidity, validating transactions, developing on the XRP Ledger, looking to xRapid as a liquidity solution and sharing the good word about XRP’s many benefits, we’re hosting a special night.”

The event will take place on May 15, 2018, during Blockchain Week NYC. The evening is to be a private event, and tickets are not available for purchase. Those who are interested in attending are invited to participate in two Ripple contests to gain admission.

The first, “Twitter Trivia,” asks competitors to respond to a question that will be delivered on the platform promptly at 4 pm (PST) on April 26, 2018.

Then, on May 2, 2018, “Make the Meme” will run for a 24-hour period from 3:30 pm (PST). Two images will be tweeted, and community members can respond with a caption for each image with the best caption winning tickets.

Winners will be publicly announced via Twitter at 4 pm PST on May 4, 2018.

Snoop Dogg

Oddly enough, Snoop is no stranger to the world of crypto and spoke of accepting Bitcoin as early as 2013. The rap artist attended a cryptocurrency gala hosted by Sparkle Coin in Beverly Hills in late 2017, and has also shown his support for the Cobinhood trading platform.

Snoop Dogg is not the only celebrity to be held up to draw attention to a particular project. Recent months have seen a host of stars endorsing ICOs and blockchain startups. Paris Hilton has endorsed LydianCoin, Jamie Foxx supported Cobinhood, and Steven Seagal even backed the token Bitcoiin2Gen, which was later slapped with a cease and desist.

Perhaps Snoop Dogg’s presence will prompt a reversal in the price of Ripple, but it doesn’t seem to have responded to the news. The price has slid over seven percent since the announcement was made and is testing the support level at $0.8.
