So the lightning network is a network. It stands to reason if you created an internet network of your own (as an internet service provider) that you should be able to accept Bitcoin payments over your own network.

WISPs aren't *super* common, but if you live in one of those extremely rural really bad internet (or no internet) areas and you know you wire up a bunch of direction antennas to get a connection to a place close enough that has pretty good internet, you can start up a WISP. This is a tool you could use to accept Bitcoin payments for the service provided.
